Endorsement comes
on the heals of AFGE endorsement
Anniston, AL--The
Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA) political
action committee endorsed Congressman
Rogers’ bid for reelection yesterday.
“I am
honored that ALFA has taken this step so early
in the process,” Rogers said. “I can truthfully
say I would not have gotten elected without
their help in the last election and am counting
on
them to help me get through this one.”
It has
been a momentous two weeks for the Rogers for
Congress campaign. In addition to yesterday’s
ALFA endorsement, since mid-February Rogers
has secured endorsements from State Representative
Lesley Vance (D-Russell and Lee Counties) and
the
American
Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local
1945.
ALFA President Jerry
Newby said, “Congressman Mike Rogers has proven
quickly he has theability
and
desire to be one of the best congressmen in
the country. He has shown a strong commitment
to agriculture, farmers and all the people of
the
3rd Congressional
District, especially providing invaluable leadership
on the House Agriculture Committee. He has
earned, and deserves, another term in Washington.”
Congressman
Rogers went on to say, “Agriculture is the
backbone of the Alabama economic engine and
I have tried to be the best advocate possible
for farmers since being sworn in last year.
I am very
proud and humbled to be recognized for those
efforts.”Rogers filed his paperwork for reelection
two weeks ago.
“The endorsement of Alabama Farmers Federation
is particularly important because it represents
grassroots input from every county in Alabama.
Our organization is committed to working very
hard to keep Mike Rogers working for us in
Congress,” Newby concluded.
